What is Teleconferencing?

April 26, 2009 by

It’s very similar to three-way calling, but with many more members in a controlled environment. I will offer the lesson plans and agenda for each call on a particular subject and then the lines will open for a Q & A session live with me and any of the experts I will have on the call with me.

What is an Mp3?
MP3: MPEG-1 Audio Layer-3. Compression scheme used to transfer audio files via the Internet and store in portable players and digital audio servers.

MP3, is a popular digital audio encoding and lossy compression format invented and standardized in 1991 by a team of engineers directed by the Fraunhofer Society in Erlangen, Germany. It was designed to greatly reduce the amount of data required to represent audio, yet still sound like a faithful reproduction of the original uncompressed audio to most listeners.

What is the difference between a SHOCKteleconference Call and a SHOCKtelecourse?
A SHOCKteleconference call is a moderated call by a host who interviews the featured guest. A SHOCKtelecourse is presented by the faculty or guest faculty member and is not an interview-style call.

What are the SHOCKteleconference and TeleCourse Requirements?
All courses require Internet access, e-mail, Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer and a telephone line.

How do I access the call?
Simply dial the phone number and the access code and then press the # key, and you will be automatically connected to the teleconference.

What is the Approximate Duration of Calls?
Anywhere between 60-90min.

How do I mute my line?
To mute your line and eliminate background noise so that we may have a clean call, please press 6 which is the Mute key. You will still be able to hear the speaker(s) but other members on the call will not hear your individual background noise.

How do I access the Question & Answer Segment?
When prompted by the speaker(s) to engage in the question and answer segment of the call, you may unmute your line by pressing the 6 key again.

What should I bring to the call?
Make sure you have pen and paper to take notes and write down your questions

How do I exit a call?
To exit a call you may hang up or press 3 to exit.

How will I know what time to access the call?
Call 5 to 10 minutes early so you don’t get a busy signal. If you get a busy signal, just keep trying. There may still be room on the call. All calls will start according to: www.Time.gov

What happens when I am not able to attend a call or course?
All of our teleconference events are recorded in Mp3 format so; you have the option to download the call at anytime after it has been released.

What if I have a question that is not answered in this FAQ?
Send your personal question to www.asktheshockcoach.com and Philippe Matthews will personally answer your question pertaining to events and courses for The SHOCKphilosophy Institute of Advanced Manifestation. You may also call 888-460-7847.

The SHOCKinstitute White List Information

April 26, 2009 by

With the tremendous amounts of spam email sent these days, major ISPs and Email Services such as Yahoo!, MSN Hotmail, AOL and others are protecting themselves by filtering mail in the attempt to thwart spammers’ operations.

Unfortunately sometimes legitimate email (such as the one we just sent you) may be blocked by mistake by these filters. Such mistakes are called “false-positives”.

Normally this should not occur and you will receive our email without any problems. But in case there is a problem (such as our mail is not delivered to a proper mail folder, or worse yet doesn’t get delivered at all), you can easily fix this yourself and it will only take a minute!

Here is what to do…

Major ISPs and Email Providers (such as Hotmail, AOL, Yahoo! etc.) enable you to manually allow (“whitelist”) emails coming from the senders you trust.

Please take a moment to whitelist our email address to ensure that you can receive all of our email. This is very simple and will only take you a minute:

Please add our email addresses philippe@shockinstitute.com to the address book/trusted senders/contact list/safe list of your Email Provider or ISP.
This should guarantee that you will receive all e-mail from us.
